| Overview & History | Ka Wehi Ma Kana Io Lana (known to her friends and colleagues as simply 'Lana') is an accomplished career officer whose achievements in engineering, diplomacy, and command have been recognized over the years. Such acknowledgement was hard-won, for she began her time in Starfleet largely as an outsider. However, her dedication and ability to look at things from different angles quickly drew the attention of her superiors, who encouraged her to pursue leadership opportunities. With their guidance and support, she soon rose to the center chair of a starship, then oversight of major field logistics. Through it all, she continually found inspiration in one of her people's great rulers, Queen Me Hani Ika Hali Ka Po, which helped her to make her own way. Lana's willingness to stand up and advocate, not only for herself, but for others as well earned her much respect. Her quiet confidence and decisiveness, on more than one occasion, opened up narrow paths to success. And the fact that she managed to balance it with care and compassion enabled her to cultivate strong relationships among those she served. Due to her capability and experience, she was chosen as the ideal candidate to assume command of Carina Station. |
