("We succeed together in a greater whole.")
— Klingon proverb
There was a time, not so long ago, when the Klingon Empire and the United Federation of Planets were enemies. Their warriors fought, their starships stalked each other, and their people lived in fear of the next attack. This was the reality for nearly a century-and-a-half - a relationship defined by hostility and suspicion toward one another. But then came Praxis, and Khitomer, and everything changed...
An alliance emerged, one sparked by disaster and forged by the acts of those with vision. Over the years, it has seen its share of stress and strain. It has been tested, from without and within, by those who would seek its destruction. And it has endured, thanks to the courageous deeds of countless individuals on both sides. Again and again, it has proven the wisdom of the proverb, "We succeed together in a greater whole."
Now, more than ever, that wisdom is needed. The quadrants are still recovering from the Romulan supernova (and its wide-reaching impacts). Factions squabble amongst themselves, rogue syndicates run rampant, and old rivalries simmer beneath diplomatic smiles. In the midst of it all, the diverse crew of Carina Station (SB-234) works to preserve, protect, and defend the very thing that has given life and stability to so many. Under the auspices of both Starfleet and the Defense Force, they continue to monitor shifting power within the former Romulan Empire, to respond to unstable situations throughout the border regions, and to model a different way of being - one they hope will offer true success and a lasting peace.
