In keeping with Starfleet’s mandate of exploration, research, and scientific advancement, Carina Station boasts an array of laboratories and facilitates for the purpose of furthering understanding of the cosmos, its history, and its inhabitants. At the heart of this area is the stellar cartography installation, which combines information from the station’s own sensors along with those of nearby starships to enable in-depth study and analysis of surrounding regions. Additional laboratories, designed with modularity in mind, allow for reconfiguration based on the needs of researchers and also the station’s command staff. A dedicated communication center for scientific use, backup computer cores, lecture halls, and secure storage facilities further support the scientific endeavors of those aboard. |
